GD&T Level I (Basic GD&T)
3 days

Intense introduction to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. This course presents the components and the overall system of GD&T. We explain why GD&T is needed and the meaning of dimensioning and tolerancing and GD&T specifications. We introduce the concepts of Functional Dimensioning and Tolerancing and discuss Dimensioning and Tolerancing Philosophy. The material is presented from a multi-disciplinary point-of-view, paying careful attention to the legal implications of Engineering Specifications and their effect on all downstream processes, such as manufacturing, inspection, assembly, service, etc. Also useful for GD&T Certification Preparation. Course is coordinated with and prerequisite for other courses offered. Exercises included.
GD&T Level II with Applications (Intermediate GD&T)
3 days

Expansion of GD&T Level I Course with extensive hands-on exercises and applications problems. Deeper coverage of complex geometries, Datum Reference Frames, Y14.5 vs. Y14.5.1 interpretations, Composite Tolerancing, Free-State vs. Restrained Parts, Tolerance Analysis issues, etc. Presentation and discussion of various applications and the effects of different approaches. Alternate strategies and optimal application are stressed in this course. Recommend prerequisite of prior completion of our GD&T Level I Course. Exercises included.
GD&T Level III with Applications (Advanced GD&T)
3 days

Extended topics and Expansion of GD&T Level I & II Courses, problems and challenges in Dimensioning and Tolerancing, process-related issues, mathematical concepts, effects on Tolerance Stackups, etc. Presentation and discussion of various applications and optional strategies. Implications on downstream processes including manufacturing, inspection, assembly, service, etc. Recommend prerequisite of prior completion of our GD&T Level I & II Courses. Exercises may be included. (This course is customized to your products, drawings and processes.)

Best option. Instructors lead your staff through the required levels of training supplemented by examples, exercises, and applications based on your products and processes. This provides the well-rounded understanding your staff needs for your firm to compete in today's competitive global marketplace.

All of our courses are presented from a multi-disciplinary point-of-view, paying careful attention to the legal implications of drawing specifications.

All material is presented with the big picture in mind, considering the inter-relationship between Design, Manufacturing, Inspection (QA/QC), Assembly, Service, Purchasing and all other facets of the Design/Manufacturing continuum. Indeed, that's what Dimensional Management is all about.

All courses are offered as standard courses with off-the-shelf content or as customized courses.

Clients often ask to have courses restructured, or to have us develop custom content based on their products and processes. These are very popular options. Please contact us to discuss.

Course durations may be increased or decreased as requested.

GD&T Courses may be taught as 2, 2-1/2 or 3-day courses. Longer duration is preferred by our clients.
